Participants will discover stroke efficiency as they develop good paddling technique in a variety of watercraft. There are no pre-requisites for this program. The program will cover the following:
- Canoe, kayak and paddle knowledge and care
- Ministry of Transport safety issues and equipment
- Canoe and Kayak transportation (Lifts and carries)
- Canoe and kayak usage (Removing, Entering, Exiting, Position, Balance)
- Paddling Strokes (Forward, Reverse, Straight Line, Sideways, Turns)
- Rescues
Many of our 2 week camp paddlers go on to join the full summer program. Block A paddlers can switch into the full summer program and have their fees applied toward the whole summer fees. See Membership Information for camp fees.
