Sometime around 2004-2005 a small group from a local Canoe Kayak Club in Dartmouth Nova Scotia had an idea to start a program for persons with disabilities. The program proved to be a success....shortly after Canoe Kayak Canada (CKC) became interested and a presentation was made to them.
In 2006-07 CKC introduced a new program named "PaddleALL' an initiative promoting the inclusion of persons with disabilities within the sport of canoe/kayak to meet the paddling needs of our local communities and clubs across Canada. In July of 2008 local clubs in Nova Scotia officially started to promote their PaddleALL programs. Since then the program has grown where it has now established itself as a viable program within Canoe Kayak.
