We will be placing an order for Cheema Singlets at the end of March. Please put your order in here.
Singlets are required for U10 and up to race in regattas. Kiddie Kayak are more than welcome to order as well.
We are offering men's and women's, sizing charts below. From past experience, the women's singlets work for youth sizes.
Cost of the singlet is $44, due when order is placed online.

Summer Registration
January 23rd, 2022
We are excited to say that summer registration will be opening on February 1st at 7am. This year we will only be offering full summer programs. Programs will start on July 4th and end on August 26th. Programs run from 9am to 4pm, with 15 - 30 minutes before and after for early/late drop-off and pickup. These times will be finalized closer to the summer due to Covid.
If you are interested in a spot, please don't wait too long after February 1st to register as some groups were filled up on the first day. Programs available this year are:
Kiddie Kayak - Participants must be 5 as of January 1st - Cost $1510
U10 Boys - Boys who were 8 as of January 1st - Cost $1195
U10 Girls - Girls who were 8 as of January 1st - Cost $1195
U12 Boys - Boys who were born in 2010 & 2011 - Cost $1195
U12 Girls - Girls who were born in 2010 & 2011 - Cost $1195
U14/U15 - Participants who were born in 2007, 2008 & 2009 - Cost $1195
We have moved to a new registration system. In preparation for registering, I would suggest that you go onto the registration site and create a user name. This new site is not as updatable as Sportical was, so please be sure to register in the correct program. When using the site, the athlete is the 'Person' and the parent is the 'Guardian'. Take notice that the Anuual Meeting of the Members of Cheema Aquatic Club will be held as follows:
DATE: Thursday, December 2, 2021
TIME: 7:30 pm
LOCATION: Cheema Aquatic Club, Upstairs in the Club House
The purpose of the meeting is to:
-
approve the minutes of the 2020 Annual General Meeting;
-
consider the annual report of directors for the year 2020-2021
-
receive the Financial report for 2020-2021 fiscal year;
-
appoint the accounting firm for the 2021-2022 fiscal year;
-
elect directors.
*Who is a member?
A Racing Member** who is at least 18 years old; one parent or guardian of a Racing Member who is younger than 18 years old, but if there is more than one parent or guardian of the Racing Member and they cannot agree on which parent of guardian will vote, then no parent or guardian shall vote in respect of that Racing Member;
A Board Member who is not a Racing Member or the parent or guardian of a Racing Member who is younger than 18 years old.
**** To be a Racing Member, a person must:**
a. be registered in a program offered by the Club that has been designated by the Board of Directors as a program for the development or training of competitive paddlers; and
b. pay all fees for the program.

Canoe ‘22 – General Manager Job Posting

In August 2022, Dartmouth, NS will host the 2022 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships (“Canoe ’22” or the “Championships”). Approximately 1500 athletes from over 80 countries are expected to participate in the Championships. This builds off of Dartmouth successfully hosting the Sprint World Championships in 2009 and 1997, as well as the Junior World Championships in 1989.
The Board of Directors for Canoe ’22 (the “Board”) is responsible for ensuring a successful Championships that delivers an exceptional experience for the athletes, volunteers and community stakeholders. The Board is currently looking to hire a General Manager who would oversee all aspects of the event, including leading a team of employees as well as community volunteers.
A overview of the employment opportunity is attached to this email, including the key roles, responsibilities and ideal qualifications of the General Manager.

Does making a difference and impact for youth and your community make you tick? Well, have we got the opportunity for you!
The time has never been better to join Cheema's Board of Directors. We are posed for some awesome growth and development in the next couple of years and you know you want to be a part of it.
I am attaching Board of Directors nomination forms. It's a simple process. Fill out the documents, ask two members to move and second your nomination and then send the form off to the Secretary of the Board of Directors - ed.wark@cheema.ca. In addition to the five Executive Committee Members, we are seeking to elect eight additional board members as Directors-at-Large.
Your current Executive are committed to serve another year in their positions. COVID-19 took their plans for Cheema in an unexpected direction and many goals for the 2019-2020 fiscal year were pushed to the wayside. Let's just say we feel like there's unfinished business for us in our roles. However, we must submit nomination forms and put forth our names for election just like new, potential Board members. The membership will ultimately determine who they wish to have serve them for the next twelve months.
I am available anytime to talk about the board, the committees we are looking to put in place and our plans for the future. Trust me, there are great things in our immediate future. Be part of the magic!

In accordance with current by-laws, Cheema's Board of Directors invites members to attend a special meeting of the organization on Wednesday, October 21st for the purpose of review and adoption of new by-laws by the membership.
The meeting will be held via Zoom to comply with COVID-19 protocols.

Paddle-a-thon 2020

It's the time of year for our annual Paddle-a-thon presented by McDonald's Mainland Halifax/Tantallon. This year due to COVID-19 there will be no pledge sheets or cash. Instead we've set up a GoFundMe page. Our goal is to raise $15,000 which we will use to renovate and install new washroom facilities. Please share on your social platforms. Summer Program Waiver
