Adult Winter Fitness

Cheema’s winter fitness programs main goal is to broaden the Cheema sense of community and have fun while improving fitness and health.  It is designed for canoers, kayakers, stand up paddlers, surf skiers, and dragon boaters.  General fitness enthusiasts are also welcome.  It is a great way to meet new people and stay active.  

The program starts after the end of the paddling season,  November 1st and runs until April 30th.  This offering consists of 3 supervised weight workouts per week.  Participants are coached in proper lifting technique and safe form/posture to prevent injuries.  Sessions are just over an hour in length and offer an efficient, intense workout (scaleable to the right fitness level of participants) with an emphasis on gaining specific strength and cardiovascular conditioning for water sports as well as cross training for other sports.

Program cost: $500 + $50 CFC (Capital Fund Contribution)
